EMJ spoke to Christa De Cuyper about her roles within the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV), including the recent Nurses in Dermatology Practice event, which De Cuyper co-chaired.

PRESENTED in a hybrid format for the first time, this year’s European Respiratory Society (ERS) International Congress welcomed over 19,000 respiratory professionals, with over 10,000 attending in-person in Barcelona, Spain. Known for its stunning buildings, Barcelona is home to many unusual architectural wonders, including Antoni Gaudí’s Casa Batlló, which was classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2005.

IN THIS pertinent session, which took place on the second day of the European Respiratory Society (ERS) International Congress 2022, in Barcelona, Spain, experts discussed the impact of crisis on both healthcare providers and patients. Chaired by Anita Simonds, Emeritus Professor of Respiratory and Sleep Medicine, Imperial College London, UK, and Arzu Yorgancıoğlu, Professor and Head of the Department of Pulmonology at Celal Bayar University, Turkey, the session saw experts and patient representatives share their experiences following the crisis of the Ukraine war.

AFTER 2 years of virtual meetings, the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) adopted a pioneering hybrid format for its 2022 congress, allowing delegates from across the globe to meet onsite in Barcelona, Spain, and also online. Clinicians and academics came together with one common goal: to advance cardiovascular care and improve patient outcomes.

In a session presented at this year’s European Society of Cardiology (ESC) Congress, which was held in-person in Barcelona, Spain, and virtually, experts discussed their future predictions for cardiovascular health and innovations that will enter this field.

THE 11th European Conference on Rare Diseases (ECRD), partner organisation of the EURORDIS-Rare Diseases Europe, is the largest patient-led rare disease policy event. The fully virtual conference took place from 27th June to 1st July 2022 and saw over 1,000 attendees, including patient advocates, policymakers, researchers, clinicians, healthcare professionals, healthcare industry representatives, academics, payers, regulators, and member state representatives.
