Philip Hamann is a Consultant in Rheumatology at North Bristol NHS Trust, Honorary Clinical Lecturer at the University of Bristol, and Clinical Specialist Advisor to Living With Ltd., UK. He is the developer of the award-winning smartphone app ‘Living with Rheumatoid Arthritis’, which allows for remote monitoring and management of patients with chronic rheumatic conditions. His work was instrumental during the pandemic in transitioning rheumatology care to a virtual setting across the NHS.
With a PhD rooted in big data and personalised medicine, Hamann has analysed over 15,000 clinical records to investigate responses to biologics in rheumatoid arthritis. Beyond research, he is known for his TEDx talks and for using humour to engage the public on complex medical issues, including stand-up routines on RNA and autoimmune disease.
