Jänne, MD, PhD, from Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Boston, MA, discusses the application of the concept “oncogene addiction”, which postulates that a cancer cell exhibits dependence on a single oncogenic pathway or protein for its sustained proliferation or survival, in the development of targeted therapies for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
