This webinar was organised and funded by Boston Scientific.
This educational webinar explores the various clinical and psychosocial factors involved in selecting patients for spinal cord stimulation (SCS), and looks into the efficacy of an e-health tool to help clinicians. The speakers delve into various examples, with Silvia Mazzoleni, Consultant in Pain Medicine, Pavia, Italy, presenting four patient cases, which are then analysed using the multilayer format of the e-health tool, with the aim of allowing referring and implanting specialists to make these complex decisions in a timely manner.
Simon Thomson, Lead Consultant in Pain Medicine and Neuromodulation, Basildon, UK, Simon Prangnell, Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist, Clinical Director, Oxford, UK, and Herman Stoevelaar, Health Scientist and Research Director Ismar Healthcare, Lier, Belgium, give their insights as experts in the field, considering how SCS affects the personal lives on patients as well as their health, and discussing how the e-health tool is able to take this into account.
Discussion covers the exclusion criteria and how clinicians can go about treating patients who fall into these categories, as well as discussing the outcomes of each patient referral.
