United Kingdom, August 23, 2016: Welcome to the third edition of the European Medical Journal, which draws together the latest research findings and important developments from across the fields of therapeutic medicine. Among several articles included from the field of hepatology, Verhelst et al. uncover the future trends in the clinical management of cirrhosis and the optimal care of patients including diagnosis, treatment, follow-up, and prognosis, and Martinez-Gili et al. attempt to enclose the main metabolic and signalling connections between lipotoxic lipid species, and how their homeostasis is disrupted in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.
