Angela George completed her medical education at the University of Otaga Medical School, New Zealand, and trained in medical oncology. She then undertook additional training in oncogenetics at the Institute for Cancer Research, University of London, UK, where she was awarded the Chairman’s Prize for her thesis on ovarian cancer genetics. She is now Consultant Medical Oncologist and Consultant in Oncogenetics at The Royal Marsden Hospital, London, UK, where she is also Clinical Director of Genomics.
George is involved in multiple national and international groups, including the National Cancer Research Institute (NCRI) Gynaecological Cancers Group, the Precision Medicine working group for the European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO), and the British Society of Genetic Medicine (BSGM). She is the cancer clinical lead for the North Thames Genomic Medicine Service and co-chairs the molecular tumour board. She was recently appointed to the Clinical Advisory Group for the National Health Service (NHS) England Genomics Unit, sits on the NHS England Genomics Clinical Reference Group (CRG), and is on the UK Cancer Genetics Group steering committee.
