Introducing EMJ Rheumatology 3.1

United Kingdom, July 26, 2016: Welcome to this year’s edition of EMJ Rheumatology, packed full of exciting news and developments from throughout the past year. Included in this issue, as always, is a selection of high-quality, peer-reviewed articles providing important insights and significant contributions to the field of rheumatology. There is also a comprehensive review of the leading news and developments to come from the 17th Annual European League Against Rheumatism (EULAR) congress, as well as in-depth interviews with members of the EMJ editorial board, guaranteeing an interesting read for rheumatologists of all specialties.

For 4 days in June earlier this year, London was host to the 17th Annual European Congress of Rheumatology (EULAR) 2016. This was a fascinating and informative event that boasted the perfect forum to promote the ever growing interest in rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases. As well as the latest news and announcements revealed at the congress, the eJournal also presents an array of abstract reviews. These have been provided directly by the researchers presenting at EULAR 2016 and raise pressing issues and important areas for discussion. This includes the value of immunosuppressive therapy, the effects of DNA methylation in association with osteoarthritis, and the role of the endocannabinoid system in immune-mediated diseases.

There are also numerous high-quality, peer-reviewed articles to be explored. The editor’s pick this year considers a variety of factors in the development of Sjögren’s syndrome, and makes some important suggestions about the future diagnosis of this chronic autoimmune disease. Alongside this, there are reviews of non-invasive cardiovascular imaging and psoriatic arthritis which will prove timely and interesting for rheumatologists across the board. Find the full eJournal here.

Zoë Webster, Head of Publishing at EMJ said: “This latest edition of EMJ Rheumatology is a continuation of all of the excellent and hard work from everyone involved in putting together the EMJ journals. We now look forward to hearing the thoughts from all of our readers, both old and new.”
