After completing an undergraduate degree in exercise physiology, James Hull went on to graduate from the oldest medical school in London, St George’s, University of London, UK, in 2000, with a degree in General and Respiratory Medicine. In 2010, he completed his PhD in vascular physiology in chronic lung disease.
Hull specialises in asthma, cough, unexplained breathlessness, and exercise physiology, and is Clinical Lead for the cough, unexplained breathlessness, and upper airway/vocal cord dysfunction service at the Royal Brompton Hospital, London. He is an international expert in helping athletes with breathing problems, and sits on the respiratory expert panel at both the English Institute of Sport and the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Hull was recently awarded the fellowship status of the American College of Sports Medicine (FACSM), and is President of the Association for Respiratory Technology and Physiology (ARTP), which is based in the UK.
