Speaker bio:

Biswanath Ghosh Dastidar attended R.G. Kar Medical College, Kolkata, India, before graduating top of his class at Oxford University, UK, and receiving a Master’s in IVF Embryology. Since then, he has served as a Clinical Fellow in the department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge, UK. Currently, Dastidar is a consultant IVF specialist and clinical embryologist with an interest in hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian axis dysregulation, polycystic ovarian syndrome, and non-invasive embryo assessment. He serves as the Director of the IVF Program at Ghosh Dastidar Institute for Fertility Research, Kolkata, India, an institution with a over 40 years of history in pioneering clinical and scientific contributions in IVF. Dastidar is also deeply interested in the social and ethical aspects of reproductive healthcare for women. Contributing to voluntary advocacy work, his recently published article entitled ‘Reproductive Health: India Towards 2030’ highlighted that India must prioritise the development of innovative strategies to bridge healthcare gaps and address unmet reproductive healthcare needs. Dastidar’s contributions to the field of IVF were recently recognised when he was awarded the National Youth Icon in IVF award by the Indian IVF Society.
