Unintended pregnancies have significant and potentially negative impacts on females and their families. Further, these pregnancies disproportionately affect younger females, as well as those of minority groups and lower socioeconomic sectors. Public health agencies support programmes which promote and expand access to long-acting, reversible contraception (LARC); intrauterine devices and implants.
