Artificial Intelligence (AI)

1. Introduction

1.1. The publisher recognises the potential use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the workplace and the improvements and efficiencies it can bring.

1.2. We understand the benefits and risks of using AI and strive to ensure that any AI application used, has extensive restrictions to protect both users and consumers.

2. AI use in EMJ / AMJ Content

2.1. The publisher may use AI to assist with gathering or qualifying research for articles and also within some imagery use, with extensive plagiarism checks to ensure all original works are protected.

2.2. No scientific data or conclusions are derived from AI. We recognise the importance of integrity and thus content and scientific conclusions are drawn from our authors.

2.3. No content is marked as sourced or given an author name, where any AI assistance has been used in researching the article, and all contributors are asked to declare any such assistance.

2.4. AI is not used in any writing that is distributed within EMJ / AMJ Journal articles nor in any written work provided to, or on behalf of our clients or customers.

2.5. We understand there are biases faced in the use of AI due to the learning programs used to create the AI. To prevent bias, all created content is manually peer reviewed.

3. Environmental and Employment Impact

3.1. AI is used internally only to improve efficiencies and workflow and not at the expense of employees. All applications are identified only once it has been determined to be beneficial towards existing and future employees.

3.2. The publisher understands the importance of considering any environmental impact AI might have the potential to cause.

Quality

It is the policy of EMJ & AMJ to:

  • satisfy the requirements of all our customers, stakeholders and interested parties whenever possible, meeting
    and exceeding their expectations;
  • comply with all legal requirements, codes of practice and all other requirements applicable to our activities;
  • the reduction of hazards, prevention of injury, ill health and pollution;
  • provide all the resources of equipment, trained and competent staff and any other requirements to enable
    these objectives to be met;
  • ensure that all employees are made aware of their individual obligations in respect of this quality policy;
  • maintain a management system that will achieve these objectives and seek continual improvement in the
    effectiveness and performance of our management system based on “risk”.

This quality policy provides a framework for setting, monitoring, reviewing, and achieving our objectives, programmes
and targets.

Customer service is an essential part of the quality process and to ensure this is fulfilled, all employees receive training to ensure awareness and understanding of quality and its impact on customer service.

To ensure the company maintains its awareness for continuous improvement, the quality system is regularly reviewed
by “Top Management” to ensure it remains appropriate and suitable to our business. The Quality System is subject to
both internal and external annual audits.
