- Prof Alberto SOBRERO
Prof Alberto Sobrero has been the Head of the Medical Oncology Unit at Ospedale San Martino in Genoa, Italy, since 2001. His main research interests include gastrointestinal cancer treatment and the design and interpretation of clinical trials in oncology. Professor Sobrero has been the Chairman of the Protocol Review Committee of EORTC and has been a member of the scientific and educational committees of ASCO and ESMO, respectively. He was the recipient of the ESMO award in 2016.
- Prof Eric VAN CUTSEM
Prof Van Cutsem, MD, PhD, is a full professor and Division Head of Digestive Oncology at the University of Leuven (KUL) and University Hospitals Gasthuisberg, Leuven, Belgium. In 2018, he became doctor honoris causa at the Medical University of Warsaw, Poland. He is a member of the Belgian Royal Academy of Medicine and president of the Belgian Foundation against Cancer. He received the ESMO Award and the European Awards in Medicine for Cancer Research in 2019.
- Digestive Cancers Europe (DiCE)
DiCE is the EU umbrella organisation of a group of 30 plus national patient organisations, representing patients with digestive cancer (colorectal, gastric, pancreatic and rare cancers). Their mission is to represent the digestive cancer patient voice in order to contribute to early diagnosis and decreased mortality and to increase overall survival and quality of life. Two patient advocates represent DiCE, Zorana Maravic, Acting CEO and Vassiliki Fotaki, Medical and Scientific Project Manager.
