Jänne, MD, PhD, from Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Boston, MA, discusses the results to date of LUX-Lung 7, a global, randomised, open-label, phase 2b clinical trial comparing afatinib, an irreversible ErbB family blocker, to gefitinib for the first-line treatment of patients who have epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutation-positive non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
