The European Society for Paediatric Oncology (SIOP Europe or SIOPE), is a pan-European organisation that represents professionals working in the field of childhood cancers. Although there has been considerable progress in the treatment of childhood cancers over the past few decades, and childhood cancer is rare, a SIOPE report suggests these are major problems that need to be overcome. ‘The SIOPE Strategic Plan: A European Cancer Plan for Children and Adolescents’ is designed to improve the quality of life of survivors and cure rate of paediatric cancer patients within the next decade.
