Using a co-ordinated multidisciplinary team (MDT) of healthcare professionals is an effective approach in managing the treatment of patients with cancer, providing tailored support, and improving patient outcomes. This collaborative approach promotes shared decision-making and adaptive strategies, and enables individualised patient care. In this review article, the author reflects on the latest advancements in the MDT approach to cancer care shared at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Congress 2021.
