They discuss the benefits and disadvantages of certain diets, with a particular focus on the effects of keto, paleo, and low carbohydrate diets on diabetes. They also discuss potassium restriction in patients with kidney disease, climate change and dialysis, and burnout in healthcare professionals.

Shivam Joshi earned his BSc from Duke University, Durham, North Carolina, USA, and his MD from the University of Miami, Florida, USA, where he completed his residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital. He has a particular research interest in plant-based diets in kidney disease and has written numerous scientific articles on the topic. He also speaks frequently on this subject and is the youngest nephrologist to receive the National Kidney Foundation’s Joel D. Kopple Award.
Joshi enjoys spending his spare time outside, doing activities such as swimming. He is also particularly fond of our feathered friends, with a preference for cockatiels.
