Speaker bio:

Sian Harding achieved her BSc in pharmacology and biochemistry from King’s College London, UK, in 1977, and stayed at this institution for her PhD in pharmacology, which she earned in 1981. She is Emeritus Professor of Cardiac Pharmacology at the National Heart and Lung Institute (NHLI) at Imperial College London, UK, as well as former Director of the Imperial Cardiac Regenerative Medicine Centre. She was also the principal scientific investigator for the UK’s first trial on myocardial gene therapy. Harding is a prolific author, and has published numerous articles, as well a book entitled The Exquisite Machine. She is the past President of the European Section of the International Society for Heart Research (ISHR), sat on the Board for the British Society for Gene Cell Therapy (BSGCT), and is an elected Fellow to the European Society of Cardiology (ESC), the American Heart Association (AHA), and the ISHR.
