Speaker bio:

Joshua Makower is the Founder and Executive Chairman of ExploraMed. Makower is also the Yock Family Professor of Medicine and BioEngineering, and Director and Co-Founder of the Stanford Byers Center for Biodesign at Stanford University, California, USA. He holds over 300 patents and patent applications for various medical devices in the fields of cardiology, general surgery, drug delivery, obesity, orthopaedics, female health, urology, and ear, nose, and throat. He received an MBA from Columbia University, New York, USA, an MD from the NYU School of Medicine, New York, and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, USA. Makower is also a Member of the National Academy of Engineering, and a Fellow of the American Institute of Biomedical Engineering and National Academy of Inventors.
