The introduction of this new system offers surgeons the flexibility to bring the proven benefits of closed incision negative pressure therapy across different incision types.
San Antonio, September 6, 2016 – Acelity, a global wound care and regenerative medicine company, today announced the expansion of its PREVENA™ Therapy portfolio with the global launch of the PREVENA PLUS™ Incision Management System. The PREVENA PLUS™ System offers the proven effectiveness of closed incision negative pressure therapy (ciNPT) with improved versatility, portability, and flexibility. PREVENA™ Therapy helps hold incision edges together and protects incisions from external infectious sources, and the new PREVENA PLUS™ System, now available in the United States and various global markets, includes a Customizable Dressing designed for linear, non-linear, and intersecting incisions up to 90cm in length.

The PREVENA PLUS™ Incision Management System is designed specifically for the management of surgical incisions that continue to drain following sutured or stapled closure. The System enables clinicians to manage incisions up to 90 cm in length with an adjustable dressing, and allows a surgeon to apply PREVENA™ Therapy following a number of procedures including laparotomy, panniculectomy, spinal fusion, revision hip and knee arthroplasty and lower extremity trauma fracture. It uses a foam bolster to provide negative pressure at -125mmHg for up to seven days and patented SENSAT.R.A.C™ Technology that monitors and maintains pressure at the incision site. It includes a replaceable 150ml canister to keep exudates away from the incision site.
