Speaker bio:

Jane Barratt graduated from the University of Surrey, Guildford, UK, with a Master’s degree in Medical Sociology, before going on to complete a Doctorate in Demography and Population Studies in 1996. Since then, she has had an extremely impressive career across the UK, Australia, and Canada, in academia, and then in business development in several national and international non-profit organisations. Barratt is currently based in Toronto, Canada.

Barratt is a Winston Churchill Fellow, and recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal in Canada, in recognition of her commitment and passion to enhance the understanding of issues relating to ageing, as well as her work in the private and public sectors to improve the quality of life of elderly people. Barratt is also a member of Vision Academy, the Director of Baycrest Health Sciences, and Chair of the Education Advisory Committee.
