They discuss global citizenship with the aim of gaining international experience and advancing clinical practice, as well as intuitive robotic surgery, and exploring the ‘comic opera’ of surgical research, all amidst intermittent snoring from David’s dog.

Speaker bio
David qualified from the University of Wales College of Medicine in 1989 and did his surgical training in Manchester and Leeds, with overseas Fellowships in Singapore, Australia, and New York. His clinical interests lie in minimally invasive and robotic surgery for bowel cancer, which is supported by an active programme of interdisciplinary research with engineers and applied health scientists. Outside of work he enjoys spending time in the nearby Yorkshire Dales and North Yorkshire Moors and cultivating exotic plants in his Polytunnel.
