Martin Whyte is an Associate Professor of Nutrition and Metabolism at the University of Surrey and a Consultant in Diabetes at King’s College Hospital, London, UK. He earned his medical degree from King’s College London and completed a PhD at Guy’s & St. Thomas’ Hospital, investigating the metabolic effects of insulin during critical illness.
Since 2012, Whyte has balanced NHS consulting with academia. With over 100 publications, his expertise spans diabetes, fatty liver disease, and fertility disorders like PCOS. His current research focuses on bridging metabolic medicine with preventative care, aiming to improve global health outcomes. He also serves as Editor-in-Chief of the EMJ Diabetes editorial board.
