A Tough Nut to Crack: The Complexities of Allergy

Speaker bio:

Drew Bird received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School in San Antonio, USA, before completing a Paediatrics residency and a fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, USA. He is a Professor of Pediatrics and Internal Medicine within the Division of Allergy and Immunology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, and Director of the Food Allergy Center at Children’s Health, also in Dallas. Bird was the inaugural recipient of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology/Food Allergy Initiative Howard Gittis Memorial Award, which led to a clinical research fellowship in food allergy at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, USA. He is a frequent recipient of ‘best doctor’ awards.

In his spare time, Drew enjoys spending time with his wife and three young children, as well as gardening, travelling, watching college football, and birdwatching.
