Claudia Martínez is Research Programme Manager, Generics and Diabetes Care, Access to Medicine Foundation. She is responsible for the strategic development, implementation and delivery of end-to-end research programmes at the Access to Medicine Foundation. Her role is to mobilise key players in the pharmaceutical industry to improve access to essential medicines in low- and middle-income countries. Since 2021, she has led the Foundation’s new research stream on access to generic medicines, overseeing and supporting the development of a first-of-its-kind analytical framework to assess how manufacturers can improve access to their products. During her career, she has also held various research and consultancy positions in the private and not-for-profit sectors. She holds a BSc in Economics and an MSc in Environment, Politics and Globalisation from the University of Chile and King’s College London respectively.
