David Resühr is an Associate Professor in the Department of Cell, Developmental & Integrative Biology, and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medical Education, at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. 

As an educator specialising in anatomy, Dr. Resühr brings a rich academic and research background, with a Ph.D. and M.Sc. from the University of Hamburg in Germany, and an impressive research career that spans reproductive health and neuroscience at Vanderbilt and Florida State University.  

David plays a central role in the development and delivery of several key courses in gross anatomy, head and neck anatomy, and ultrasound training at the University of Alabama. From pioneering anatomy education to hands-on ultrasound workshops, David is transforming medical education with innovation. But he’s not just an educator; he’s an inventor, too. He is the brain behind several inventions, such as a DIY Ultrasound Training Phantom Kit, and a versatile 3D-printed knee phantom for ultrasound procedures, making medical training more accessible and cutting-edge.
