Speaker bio:

Jonathan Weitzman is Professor of Genetics at the Université Paris Cité in France, originally having completed his training in Manchester and Oxford in the UK. He has since worked in some of the finest institutions in the world, including the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute at Harvard Medical School in Boston, USA.

Jonathan is the Founding Director of the Centre for Epigenetics and Cell Fate, a research centre in the heart of Paris that focuses on investigating the role of epigenetic events in cellular differentiation programs. His research teams work on the contribution of epigenetic mechanisms to cancer phenotypes and tumour progression.

Jonathan has also published countless books, articles, and research papers, receiving a plethora of awards for his contributions to the field. As though that weren’t enough, he also has his own sciencepodcast, ‘The Lonely Pipette’.
