Chronic kidney disease associated pruritis (CKD-aP) can be a highly vexatious problem that disrupts sleep, impacts quality of life (QoL), and worsens health. Given that CKD-aP has both kidney and skin-related components that need investigating and treating, EMJ brought together nephrologist Professors Francesco Locatelli and dermatologist Franz J. Legat to provide insight into the current understanding of CKD-aP diagnosis, issues affecting QoL, and potential treatment.
