COMETS – Core Medical Emergency Training using Simulation

September 29, 2015

The COMETS course is a full day of simulation training in the recognition and management of acutely ill patients for core medical trainees.

Develop your team-working and leadership skills using realistic medical emergencies in a safe, non-judgmental environment using high-fidelity simulation equipment. Scenarios based around ‘emergency presentations’ and ‘top 20 presentations’ in the core medical trainee (CMT) curriculum 2009 and amendments 2011 are included.

The course is aimed at CMTs in their early training to prepare them for acutely ill medical patients that they will encounter both on call and during routine work. You will not be expected to manage all medical emergencies independently – as in real life, help is always available!

Feedback from previous delegates:
“Scenarios reflect real-life situations.”
“Approachable and supportive faculty.”
“Please organise more simulation training – it has been very useful!”
“Hands-on experience leading a team.”
